Dear fellow DJFers,

I was wondering the following: is there an actual difference between Jackin' house and Chicago house, or are these just two names to define the same kind of house?

Surprisingly little can be found about this on the interwebs. I'm surely talking about the genre of house with the high-pitched claps, and often with a jazzy/disco-y sound. Think of stuff like from Joey Youngman, Frankie Knuckles, Sonny Fodera and such.

So, is there a difference between the two or are they synonyms?

Somewhat synonymous, but if you told me "Chicago House" my first instinct is to think of Chicago classics. Not all of which are Jackin', though many have that signature swing to them (see: Every Steve Hurley track in the 90s).
