I've never seen it but it looks like a DMC mixer. Somebody like Sigma would know what it is most likely.

It would be this mixer...

Ah so I'm guessing the mixer is ancient. Getting a fairly good deal on the whole setup so I guess I should look at replacing the mixer.

Ancient doesn't necessarily mean you have to replace it. Some of the old mixers are built like tanks.

Very true, it's my first mixer so I'm not sure what the better alternative is at the moment.

Ancient isn't necessarily bad, but having no EQs or gains is.

That mixer is toss. No gains/EQs makes it poor for even mixing.

You can scratch on it though - you just might have to turn it sideways, lol: -

Lol smh:mad:
What do you all recommend, mostly mixing maybe a little scratching. Something cheap but affective to work until I can work my way up to affording an upgrade

If you have a job and just need to save up over the course of a few weeks, I'd stick with that mixer until you can afford a mid-high end one. You can somewhat compensate for the lack of gains by using the line faders.

EDIT - I just watched the video you posted and it's missing the line fader knobs and the crossfader knob looks like it's broken as it has tape wrapped around it - maybe it is best to just buy some piece of shit Numark or Gemini mixer off eBay to use until you can get something better.

Thanks Sigma!
If I could find something under $300 it would be great...any recommendations?

Are you looking for just a 2 channel mixer?

Also, you mentioned scratching, but are you looking to be a mix DJ that just does a bit of scratching, or is scratching something you'll be doing a lot?

Yep, just a 2 channel. I'd primarily be mixing with a bit of scratching, I doubt I'll ever be into scratching hardcore.

This mixer is great, but the look of it is somewhat of an acquired taste, lol: -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Allen-Heath-Xone-02-Professional-DJ-Mixer-Refurbished-/150892590572?forcev4exp=true

That's manufacturer refurbished for $350 or best offer and someone has already put in an offer. Here's a review of the older version: -

http://www.djworx.com/skratchworx/reviews/xone02.php

Here's a refurbished Vestax 05 Pro MK II, but with a brand new Innofader installed: -

That one's $385, which again is over your budget, but perhaps you could message the seller and make an offer.

For a mix DJ doing a bit of scratching, I'd go with the first one (despite its gaudy looks). For more of a scratch DJ, I'd go with the second one because of the brand new Innofader, although that mixer is fine for mixing as well.

There were no mixers under $300 "buy it now" that I would recommend. You might want to try Craigslist or the for sale section on here - perhaps put up a wanted ad and say you want a 2 channel mix/scratch mixer for $300 or less and see what happens.

You could look for an Ecler Nuo 2 or 2.0. They should be in the price range, and a scratch friendly.

what sort of things do you need to have on your mixer? Crossfader curve, booth outs those kind of things?
