Please recommend some laid-back/jazzy hip-hop that would be suitable for a lounge vibe in a bar.

I found an iTunes Essentials playlist that fits this description, and I'm hoping for some similar suggestions:

A Tribe Called Quest, Fugees, even instrumental, etc.

Thanks in advance

hmm, some joints from 9th Wonder? also- John Robinson has some nice, mellow tracks...peep the Jazz Revolution LP w/ J Rawls, maybe? speakin of J Rawls, def check "blue #2" off "the essence of" LP as well.

a bunch of the instrumentals off mf doom's Special Herbs series might be well suited for you too. maybe even some of Kyo Itachi's productions ("love mugen" EP?). and how bout Gang Starr, or somethin from Guru's "Jazzmatazz" albums?

couple other names worth checkin out...Typical Cats, O.C., or anything w/ Pete Rock...Pete and CL, him and Grap Luva (I.N.I.), or Deda.

hope this helps...Peace

Jon Phonics - half past calm mixtape

His delivery is a bit too aggressive for my liking.

mystic man and eshamanjaro - in heavy weather

Perfect!

Lewis parker - masquerades and silhouettes

Couldn't find this album, but his other stuff intrigues me.

It certainly does, thanks!

hip2thehop, your suggestions are right on the money. I'm diggin' some of that instrumental stuff. Might be nice while in a bar...patrons trying to fight over MC's for conversation :P

Big +rep to you both!!

Guru is one of the few artists that has and continue to inspire my actions in life. RIP
