My first pair of slipmats are a pair of Glowtronics. These are the ones I've started learning with. (2 months now)

These guys (http://www.samash.com/p/Glowtronics_Life%20Design%20Slipmats%20Pair_-49961294).

As much as I know these are really good. At least they feel really good. The records feel really loose and easy to spin. Just a little flick and I've completely lost myself as to where it lands. I don't feel them tugging on the vinyl at all. Plus they look pretty cool.

One thing I've noticed is the side laying against it seems to get quite a bit dirty from what looks to be slipmat lint. The lint then wraps itself around the needle and will eventually make it skip. I'm pretty diligent about wiping it off (with a record cleaner) before I play it but it doesn't get it all.

Two questions:

How detrimental is this too the needle? I have white labels if anyone needs that for reference.

Is this the nature of all slip mats? AKA the lint. I don't care about glide quality in this post, just the cleanliness.
