Hi guys, I am starting a production/DJ company and I am in need of some help. My business has started to grow and I am being offered jobs that I would not feel comfortable doing without insurance.

I will be putting on local concerts, DJing, and running lights and sound for events in the area. I have looked into getting insurance locally, but I am new to owning a business and only 23 years old and just graduated from college. They said they are not familiar enough with this type of business to insure me since it is not simply DJ insurance I require.

I was wondering what type of insurance I will need and how I can go about getting it. I am assuming at least liability and property.

Thanks for any information and I am very committed to doing whatever it takes to do things the correct way.

If you are doing mostly private events I would go with DJ insurance via ADJA or WEDJ... much cheaper than the above, but limited to $1mil. Should be good for standard DJ stuff.

If you're doing big concerts I think you'll want something different.
