Hello Folks!!

Just wanted to know of any CD Player having Hot Cues. I have looked at CDJ-1000, however want to check if there is a cheaper (but good) alternative.

Thank You In Advance,

Best Regards,
John Joseph

denon dns3700 or dns3900, in the secondhand market can both be bought cheaper than cdj1000,many will argue that there even better decks than pioneers newer range..

Thank you DJ Mick,
I was just reviewing the NUMARK NDX800. Any thoughts on the same?

My budget is approx $500 for each player

i'm too lazy to really read the article, but here's a skratchworx review (http://www.djworx.com/skratchworx/reviews/ndx800.php) on the ndx800. it's very detailed.

i know that another user on here, sephi, uses two ndx400s for gigs and he says they're reliable and do everything he needs (his thoughts are on this page (http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?47-Post-pics-of-your-setup-2-0-part-1/page58).)

The CDJ 1000 hot cues are great because they sample INSTANTLY and have plastic buttons, as opposed to the cheaper alternatives that use different materials for the buttons (like rubber) and are not as solid for sampling live. On the CDJ, you can sit there and spam the same button for like 5 minutes and it doesn't sound any different than the first time you played it. There's a reason why good equipment comes at a higher price. Just my opinion.

Hot cues don't sample.

The CDJ1000 is more expensive than its competitors for good reason.

Now they are discontinued you should be able to pick up a pair used for around your budget.

They can be used to sample audio clips. I was speaking in broad terms and may have used the wrong vocabulary. I apologize, I will re-phrase myself. A hot cue on the CDJ-1000 is used to instantly jump to any point on a given track and begin playback. I use my hot cues as a mini-sampler but it isn't their only use as a function.
