The carpet was getting pretty torn up after 5 or so years of use so I decided I'd refinish them in duratex. It took most of the day to do one of them and used just over a pint of the roll-on duratex. They look almost new now and the finish seems pretty solid, we'll see how it holds up after a couple years of use.

Nice. That carpet can be a pain to get off sometime. I have duratex on a bunch of stuff. It looks slick but definitely needs a touch up from time to time.

The place I got it from was out of stock on the gallon buckets. Its the site they link to from bill fitzmaurice's site. It was around $14 a pint and a pint was just enought to do two coats on a pv215. I may put another coat on though.

The carpet came off pretty easily. The rest was just scraping a few spots and some sanding. I also re-glued where the cab was separating and then did a bit of filling with putty.

Can you please add more pictures of finished product... I have 4 of the same speakers, the carpet is okay but i think it would look better with this duratex paint. Where can we buy the paint from?

I got the roller grade stuff. I think the next time I do it, I'm going to do two coats with a plain roller and one with the textured roller.

Looks good!
You should get some grill cloth and spray glue it to the back of the grill.
