I have been thinking about getting an effect box to go with my mixer for a while - but for people who actually use the things - what are your favorites?
I have been leaning towards a Kaos Pad for a while, but I don't really know what else is out there. I would be using it with a xone:22 so I don't have a ton of control over the send/receive volumes
thanks in advance for the input...

Really all the effectors out there today:
EFX 500: easy to use, lots of effects. some sound a bit old and the sound quality is horrid when pushed a tad too far
EFX1000: lots of possibilities, great machine, bit expensive
RMX 1000: brand new, expensive but lots of features and a lovely isolator
Kaoss pad 3: lots and lots of effects, none of them really fantastic. difficult to get started with, impossible to master. its massive effects section gets in the way of usability.

I owned the kp3 for a while. While I liked it fairly well, but there were a lot of effects that I did not find useful. I also owned the efx-500 for a while. That was decent enough for basic effects, and it is easy to use.
Here is a good video of the KP Quad. I am thinking hard about picking up one of these. I never tried it, but it appears to be a scaled-down, more usable version of the kp3.

I don't know that I want to spend $800 on an effects processor. Wow, all that Pioneer stuff is pricey.
Any one use something like the Nano-Verb:

Sounds pretty good, and looks great. I used to have the EQ killers from Electrix - they make some sweet stuff. Seems like you could get one of these for about $150 on ebay.
Good Call!
