I've seen one for sale locally and am just curious why its a few hundred bux cheaper than the SL1200's
The ad says it has a mk1 servo control (77-78).
Cheers.
The first thing that springs to mind is that it has a rotary pitch control. Not impossible to mix with, but a hell of a lot harder to use.

1800 also has a suspended sprung sub chassis, so the platter will wobble around a bit when you touch it, whereas the 1200 is fixed. Also the servo control on the pitch is slightly less predictable than the 1200mk2.
Nice turntable though, I had one that I used just for regular playback, sold it a couple of years ago.

There two different best. I pretty much learned on them and the 1600 before going to the 1200. Blending with them was a task but once you got it it was locked. Scratching was sub par with them.
