Martin PR-1. Simple and uses standard size gobos.

Unfortunately the Martin PR-1 is discontinued. There are several different ways to go.

1 - Ellipsoidal Reflector Spotlight (leko) is the theatrical standard for projecting gobos. A fixed focal lenght fixture will run you around $ 350.00 A Zoom adjustagle fixture a bit over $ 600.00

2 - LED Gobo Projector's are ok but lack in brightness unless your willing to invest a grand or more.

3 - Video projector. Again large up front cost but versatile and no gobo expenses ever.

4 - LED Moving head fixture. Under a grand, bright, has more than one use and compact. Down side small gobo size limited design potential.

Should run you right around $100 shipped for a metal gobo.

Bravo on recommending a Tennessee based biz! I shall second them.

I believe Bill also can make Custom Gobos.

I do hundreds of custom gobos a year. I'm an Apollo Design Rep. They laser cut their steel gobos rather than acid etch so they are a much more environmentally friendly company. Art Proofs are free and when required, custom gobos can ship the same day if ordered by noon.

Here's Apollo's Wedding Gobo Template Guide a very useful sales and design tool.

I grabbed the ADJ LED Gobo Projector, as Bill mentioned, it's not terribly bright, but for weddings I've found it to be perfect. And by terribly bright I mean you wont' see it in daylight, but when the lights are dimmed (as they are for weddings) it's great. Plus it only costs $1 to print off a transparency at Office Depot.

Scroll down a little to see a few examples. First two pics are from an iphone and kinda stink. But the upside is I can do multiple colors, same day turn around and just about any design out there.

Thanks for the link! I may have to get some of these to replace the gobos in my Intimidator 350's... Stock ones are no good!
