The time of year has arrived where everyone gravitates to water. Harmonic has been holding down the pool this summer, but intends to move to open water on August 11th, and announces to set sail on the third annual OVERBOARD Tiki Boat party, this year featuring production guru, Watergate resident, and BPitch controller, KIKI.
After Kiki’s debut with Harmonic a little over two years ago, Kiki is surely a producer for whom no introduction is required. His style encapsulates everything exciting about electronic music. As a DJ he uses the experience of a life of travelling and performing and channels those experiences into music that has a reflective brilliance, deftly treading the line between the club space and the headspace. Originally from Helsinki, Kiki now finds his home in Berlin. Gigs in Germany were followed by a string of huge international bookings. Since 2001, Kiki has become an integral part of the Bpitch family growing into a truly international artist, sharing his love of energetic and hypnotic music across the globe from Mexico, to Tokyo and making a little bit of history along the way. Kiki has been the only performer ever to pack Ibiza’s Space club to capacity on a Monday. With an output that has been nothing short of prolific, Kiki has released a number of genre defining records both as himself and later with partner in crime Silversurfer. Kiki was the first artist asked to put together a mix for the now legendary Boogy Bytes series, and has been asked to provide remixes and productions for labels as diverse as Bugged out, Playhouse and Crosstown Rebels where he had the honor of being the first artist released on the label. MTV playlisted a music video off his 1st album, and the remixes of his “Good Voodoo” have been some of the hottest releases of the past several years. Simply put, Kiki is a Jedi in all realms of the industry, and a worthy captain for this deep water debacle.
Chief Officer on this musical and nautical voyage will be Music Savage, and Harmonic Captain JAKE PATRICK (also of Delinquent Frequency and Rockers Takeover). Second Mate is the San Diego Jungle Party main man, MIKEY LION, who just recently delivered a much talked about whopper of a performance at the Lightning in a Bottle festival.
Hour of operation are from 12:30pm(sharp) to 5pm on the Tiki Boat in the Newport Beach Fun Zone. Presale tickets are available at http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?385178. This is an extremely limited capacity event, so make sure to get your tickets early to ensure entry. The first two OVERBOARDs were nothing short of “epic”, and this year is anticipated to be on course for the same destination.
