Having owned and modded the denon and seen what the dicers can do, I would choose the dicers.

i moved from traktor to serato and just mapped my X1 . really easy to do and i much prefer the layout to the denon and the messy after thought look of the dicers. but thats me :)

Since I own an NS7, 2 V7's, and a VCI-300, I prefer the Denon since it makes using Serato almost identical to using Itch. The layout is almost the same as the NS7, plus all the buttons are labeled. The Dicer is probably more user friendly for scratch DJ's.

I have had a Denon for a long time now and can't imagine a better controller for SSL, not to mention it is very robust. I would still go for the Denon without even thinking about it, but I have only seen a few Internet videos of the Dicers in action.

And though I'm sure a big part of it is personal preference i.e. what works for you most intuitively, I'm not sure the Dicers offer much in the way of functionality over the Denon? I am sure the Dicers are great if they suit your specific needs but, bearing in mind that the Denon has 4 pages of buttons available, what specifically can the Dicers do that the Denon can't?

One of many reasons I would choose the Denon is that it does have some rotary controls which are handy for library function, loop size and effects; and with 4 pages of buttons available, you can skin a cat many ways.

I use the Dicers with my SL3's and 1200's. I love them. You can do a lot with them. Here's a video of me using them for scratch mixing:

The Novation Dicer's are awesome. I can't cut like many guys here, but I have seen some incredible effects pulled off with the help of the dicer's.
