Looks pretty sweet Arnaldo! I like that MidiCon. It has a similar look to my Magic 260.

I agree, they definitely do. The only reason why I'm staying away from software based DMX control is because I prefer the feel of buttons and sliders instead of screwing around with my track pad.

I have a Magic 260 as well, but have been moving away from it since I bought my movers. I do like the feel of buttons, but trigger based keys on the laptop have been working well for me. I love the ease of programming in ShowXpress. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the 260 or sell it.

Chauvet can use a few MIDI boards... but CompuShow REALLY takes advantage of it.

Synaxis, the MIDICON offers all the hardware feel but with software advantages. I felt the same as you! See this thread for the reason why I love Compu's patch based stuff (makes DMX simple): http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?11299-By-request-CompuShow-Walkthrough-(KILLER-DMX-Software)

ShowXpress MIDI capability is awful, I have an Akai APC 40 to act as a wing, which is theory would give you just about everything you need, but nope.

Brett, that's exactly why I switched; I wanted REAL DMX control and not just a DMX board emulator.

Your video is making me lean the same way. I showed the video to my head light designer and he was feeling it so we'll see. What do you have into the software, interface, midi controller, etc? I'm going to assume it's a PC only software? That's what originially led us to showxpress, was it's mac friendliness (and lack of tutorials for the mac version was fun!).

Yes, PC only but has flawlessly with Parallels!

I got the Cue Basic and MIDICON... but there's bigger and badder versions of their dongles.
