Back in the 90's before t'internet my mate Dan, an inveterate vinyl hunter of no mean skill, had the phone number of Frankie Bones record store and used to call him up occasionally looking for rare and hard to find records. Frankie told him that they basically locked Joey Beltram in the studio with a bag of pills and this was the result, it may well/is probably bullshit but this is what he was told by FB.

Bones still will hunt down records. At one point, he was charging $100 for five records. Takes all the fun out of digging. It's all about wanting a record for years and then finally finding that mint/sealed one in a bin.
