I need to get a T-bar for an upcoming wedding reception as I won't have the room to fit my truss.

Most that I see say they are for 4-8 parcans, but can I mount my colorstrip mini's and possibly 2 scanners to one? Which brand/model do you guys recommend?

Any T bar will allow you to mount just about anything you want if you're using O Clamps. Just make sure it is the same diameter as the vertical mast of your tripods.

Most T-bars are almost exactly identical, so it really doesn't matter which one you get.

Like Bill mentioned, get O-clamps for the T-bar you will be buying. It is MUCH easier to mount your lights with them rather than using bolts and nuts.

Plus, with O-clamps, you not limited to the bottom of the t-bar. You can also mount lights on top.

I would mount the Colorstrip Mini's on top, one on each side, and the scanners on the bottom, also one on each side.
If you have any additional lights you want to bring, you could probably fit two more lights in between the scanners.

In total for the four lights, you would need 6 O-clamps.

Thanks guys! Have some rep points.

Should I buy another stand (if so what brand? Been looking at On-Stage) or should I work with the stands from my truss and find a T to slide into it?

Synaxis - is that the Odyssey LT-P2 (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Odyssey-LT-P2-Tripod-Lighting-Stand-103546511-i1155927.gc)? If so, that's the one I have, and I have 2 x Colorstrip Mini's mounted on it along with two effect lights. So, WingMan, it is a similar setup to yours and it works great for me.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to save some money and just buy the T-bar to attach to your existing truss stand, no problem. Just make sure that they are compatible with each other.

Personally, I would buy a another T-bar just in case. Somewhere down the road, you may need it in addition to your truss, perhaps to project a gobo or spotlight a cake across the room, ect...

Yep! That's the one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/odyssey-lt-p2-tripod-lighting-stand

Additionally, they have some with extra bars if you feel like you may need them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110889166665?hlp=false#ht_4565wt_1195

However, I have that Chauvet T-bar, and I NEVER use the additional side bars. It is too much of a hassle to set them up and tear them down. Plus, I feel as if the lighting stand looks way over crowded with them.

Right on! Do you have any photos of how you've positioned your lights on it? Prior gigs where I've been cramped on space I've mounted the strips to my speaker tripods, but per this thread want something that looks better than just throwing something together.

Here's a quick pic of my current setup on a T-Bar (top photo). I mounted my mini's on top as I wanted to have all my light on one bar as opposed to using the small cross bars - which are a PITA if you ask me (second photo). O-clamps (while I did not use them) are a big time saver as mentioned already.

I now use an On Stage crank stand - which I think is a life saver if you are doing it by yourself.

Don't have any pics with both effect lights mounted, but here's one effect + the Colorstrips (five O-clamps total):

You could have a fairly clean system with two colorstrip mini's and two mini moving heads. I just may put together something like that, thanks for the ideas guys.
