I'll give it a shot, not much of a scratch dj and don't really have a scratch oriented system but I do have fun scratching and have picked basic techniques over the years. Now better way to improve myself than a competition. So basically we just scratch a sample over and instrumental within 5 minutes.

would of battle but your strange rule rules me out

How are the rules strange? He just wants you to use a full song instrumental instead of just a constantly repeating loop to scratch over.

we spoke before and he's now moved the goal post.

the rule is to suit him, he obviously practices that way.. i had no issue i simply commented. but instead you want to battle me.. just be quiet and have your battle

And obviously the way you practice is with a loop? You seem to be making a huge deal about a loop and an instrumental. Are you going to be any better/worse at scratching if it's a hiphop instrumental or loop. My rules are simple, this isn't the DMC championships it's a freaking djforums battle. So calm your balls

I want to battle... but I also think the instrumental thing is obtuse. Why care what the music is? We are judged on our scratching not the accompanying track right? I made a sick hiphop beat with my new Maschine, why can't I use that?

i ain't arsed bro. someone commented i responded. i don't practice on a loop, i mainly juggle so you calm your little balls:teef:

Wha?

I'm on the side of whoever is saying that we should be able to use any backing track.
