Here it is ladies. My new golden turntable doing what it does best, playing some classic rock! It is sitting on top of my restored Pioneer SX-1250 receiver and playing through a couple of Onyx Mini Strata speakers. My VPI record cleaning machine is to the right. My little point and shoot camera doesn't autofocus on video, but it has a great mic. http://youtu.be/-I5AtN9N_VM

So it's even better because it's an M5G GLD and not the older version.

Congrats!

Great idea to snatch one for non-dj vinyl. That's awesome!

I'm using a Shure M97Xe. It's a great audiophile cart.

The Mini Strata speakers are special, they look and sound fantastic. Unfortunately the company that made went out of business. The good thing is you can still find them used on craigslist and most people that own them are audiophiles. There are plenty of glowing reviews on line. They where speaker of the year when they came out and most reviews said that you have to spend at least $6000 to find something better. New they sold for $2000 a pair. They are called Mini Stratas, but they are 4 feet tall and I think they weight about 100 lbs each. I will never own another pair of speakers for my two channel system, I couldn't afford anything that sounds better. If you ever find a pair for sale, don't hesitate to buying them, they are that good. Each speaker has its own subwoofer amp built in, so it doesn't take much power to drive the rest of the speaker. You can drive them with a tube amp. The nice thing about the speakers is that they sound excellent at low volume levels, so you don't have to have them blasting to enjoy them. I drive them with my 160 watt receiver, and at full volume, they will shake all the pictures off the walls. Here is a picture of when I first got them: http://www.pbase.com/panotaker/image/97694026.jpg
