Hey yall, I was wonderin if anyone has tried the GLI pro sl-2500 turntables, listed here,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-Of-GLI-Pro-SL-2500-Direct-Drive-Professional-Turntables-S-Tonearms-/350564105980?pt=DJ_Gear_Lighting&hash=item519f3fbefc#ht_2871wt_1113
I cannot find any information on them except for this here
http://www.epinions.com/review/pr-Gli_Pro_SL-2500_Turntable/content_572412104324
And that review is so in depth that it seems it may have been written by a GLI sails rep.
They look like knockoff 1200's, and the stats seem pretty good, but the price tag raises a red flag in my mind.
Did I miss the memo about these? They seem a better option for a beginner DJ than anything else in the small price range.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Don't trust reviews especially coming from their company sales reps. That GLI will make you regret it once you get them. Save more and get something better.

There's someone on the forums selling a pair of Stanton STR8-100s, which even if they had been dropped down a flight of stairs, I would still take over those Gli pro things.

Call me a fan-boy if you may... But Technics 1200s aren't a bad choice either... Score a used set and you'll see why they're so popular.

Having never owned a set, but I've been on em a number of times throughout my DJ career, I can definitely say that they're the last vinyl decks you'll buy.

I think if they got dropped down the stairs i would be more worried for the stairs than the deck... THose are some heavy turntables and the torque on them is unreal.
