Alright folks, I'm thinking of buying a set of cdj 900's. Does anyone know where i would get them? Probably online? And any reccomendations for mixers to think about getting with them? I Have Numark cdj's and a Numark mixer and as you can imagine they aren't the greatest! but the mixing is going extremely well so I want to get something decent and the cdj 900's seem to be! I don't know much at all so any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

i have a cdj 900 and can recommend them highily, better infact in some ways that the cdj 2000s,especially if you like to be creative in your mixing, the slipmode is a great feature, meaning you can scratch etc,and the track will keep playing not like on standard operation where the track stops and often sounds bad when you return into the mix,as for a mixer i would recommend the djm 700 at £749 in the uk, its in my opinion the best bang for buck in the pioneer djm range..

If you can, try some players out. Its always best to get a feel of gear before handing over lots of hard earned cash. Some shops have gear you can play on (decks.co.uk etc) or do you know some one that has some gear you can try?

The 900s have some great feed back, but have you looked at other options? SC2900

As for a mixer the DNX1600 (paid £769 for mine) is a class above the DJM700 (in my view) and in same price range. (Most sites offer price match)

I got most of my kit from DECKS.CO.UK but shop around and get price match for the best prices.

Other sites worth a look:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/dj_equipment.html (not in the UK but ships here and great for price matching)

Thomman price: £781.54 http://www.thomann.de/gb/denon_dn_sc3900.htm

Decks price £899.00 http://www.decks.co.uk/products/cdplayers/denon/SC3900

you live in scotland so you will probably have to go through a reputable dealer in the UK..

great decks from what i've read on them.

I brought a pair of CDJ900s a couple months ago (here in the UK) and they are bloody brilliant!

I would also give another shout for the DN-X1600. I had originally set my sights on the DJM700, but after trying the Denon I was amazed by just how much better it felt. The faders are some of the best I've used on a mixer, the features are great and it is simply a joy to mix on. The sound quality also sounds a step above from the DJM700. If you can get the DJM800 I may be tempted to go for the Pioneer mixer, but at that price range I would take the Denon DN-X1600 over the DJM700 all day long.

I got my pair of CDJ900s & the DN-X1600 (all brand new) from my local DJ equipment retailer and they cut me a very good deal for buying it all together (significantly cheaper than some of the top Internet retailers). My advice would be to find a local equipment store and go and have a chat to them about what you want, you may find there is room for a bit of a haggle!

But yes, I'm finding the CDJ900s & Dn-x1600 an amazing setup. So much fun to use, you wouldn't be disappointed! :)

My friend got some CDJ 900s back in November or so and they're absolutely fantastic, I'm using a CDJ 1000 MK1/MK2 and am satisfied with them although those 900s are fantastic. Denon mixers are fantastic as well, got my DN-X1500 for $400 last month (seems like I use very old gear lol) and I'm very satisfied with it.

Thanks for the replies, It is some amount of money looks like i'll be saving up for a bit :(

Noticed in the news bit the Numark N4 controller with mixer... http://www.numark.com/product/n4 any opinions on this? It's probably a huge step down but would possibly get them in the mean time and save up for the cdj 900's and a mixer as it may take a while!

cheers
