I already have one X1 and considering buying another, but what advantages would there be to having a second? or should I buy the F1 along with my X1?

cheers

Buying an F1 is much better than getting another X1.

Do you feel you need a second one? What controls are you lacking while using just one?

My guess would be on the fly access to 4 deck looping and effects control since it looks like a single X1 has 2 deck controls.

it would be to control the 4 decks, I feel you would better control.

Tempted to put the the F1 with the X1 and perhaps buy a used EFX 1000 as well for the fun of it, or would that be over kill? ;)

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve really. Personally I think that's overkill if you are actually using the efx within Traktor, but if not then the EFX 1K could be fun, although I have no idea how you run your setup so using it to it's full potential is all on the way you have the audio routed, whether you are using an external mixer, etc.

I route it through my DJM 800

I really don't think I'm using the X1 to its full potential to be honest, especially when it comes to the efxs side of it.

You don't need an EFX100 because you already have a DJM800 and an X1. Learn you gear first before adding up a new one. You have mentioned that you haven't used the X1 to its full potential and yet you're planning to get another X1, an F1 or an EFX1000 which I believe will be a waste of money if you don't get to use them for their actual purposes. I'm using an old DJM500, an X1 and a Dicer. Pretty much happy with them and I do 90% of my effects with the X1. Cue points and loops in the Dicer and flanger/echo/reverb on the DJM500.

Honestly the only real reason to get a second one is if you REALLY need 4 deck capability and you're trying to push the limits with what you can do with Traktor. I've used 2 X1s (w/ internal fx), a Xone:42 & a Maschine for almost 2 years, I believe.

Do you use a modified mapping for the X1s? I have a very competent four deck mapping for a single X1 that allows control of four FX units per deck on the "native" map.

I don't why this hasn't been pointed out yet...
but the obvious benefit of having two X1's is...
Theres two of them!

am I crazy for wanting the efx 1000 when I get the rmx 1000?

Yeah, because you already have 5 available efx units you don't use.
