Mix 1:

I enjoyed the tracks, and track selection for the most part was pretty good. A couple slightly "odd" mixes. I did notice that it got a little sloppy around 14:00 for a while. Volume control was pretty good. Overall it was enjoyable. Are you a fan of Fabriclive.58 with Goldie by chance?

Mix 2:

I definitely would have liked to have heard more tracks in this mix, however the mixing itself was very good. The flow for the first 2/3 of the mix was very melodic and nice, it gained energy at the end although I would have been fine with it going the way it was earlier, however it was still enoyable. Beatmatching was on point.


It's difficult because the flaws in both mixes are very different so in the end it's something that comes down to taste. I choose mix 1. Good work both of you!

Voted for mix 1. Both were great. I thought that two made me feel like I was in outter space. One got my vote because I just enjoyed it overall a bit more. Good work to both of you!

Both were pretty sweet.

I voted 2 because it was flawless.
I liked the music a bit more in #2 and will add it to my personal mp3 player. Dont get to listen to much of this type of DnB, Thanks.

That's M'lud to you defendant, Mix 2 just felt too smooth and polished to me, many would say that is not a bad thing, but it just made it feel a bit blandish to me, mix 1 started off a bit fassy but started throwing down some ruff basslines as it progressed, therefore I find it guilty of making me more likely to brock out to it. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/diezelpower/judge.gif

Christ, this was a tough one :o

Mix 1 didn't really have the sort of drum & bass that I listen to these days, but it flowed well, and the technical aspects of the djing were pretty flawless.

Mix 2 was more liquid based, which is my preference, and again the technical aspects were pretty darn good as well.

In terms of judging them both though, flow-wise and on technical ability, I would vote for Mix 1; however there wasn't much melodic drum & bass in it, and based on this, I felt Mix 2's was a harder mix to pull off due to having to pay more attention to key clashes.

I couldn't decide on who to vote for, so to be honest, I'd rather not vote, unless both participants are tied just before the end of the voting period :(

P.S. Would really like to battle the dj in mix 2 at some point this month :)
