Well the title says it all. I want to join a Record Pool but there are so many choices out there I'm not sure which one to join.
I am a beginning DJ and I really like all kinds of music, so I want to be able to join a record pool that has a great variety of music styles. I really want to see which options are the best.
I know that these might be and over talked about subject but I would really appreciate some feedback!

I'm apart of digiwaxx, they make you fill out a pretty intensive application and take a few days to review it but its probably becuase its a free record pool. I have to say though most of thier tracks are in 192kbps format which kinda defeats the point of the pool. Its also kind of hard to search and find tracks since its basically 50 thousand pages that you just click through.
I thought I would be happy with it, but i'm kinda disappointed. But, hey its free and you might like it. Never hurts since your not losing anything over trying it out.

DJCity.com is perfect. All tracks are 320k. Top 40 tracks all have intros/outros/acapellas. Plenty of EDM. Top 10 Charts. Updated daily. $30 a month.

I really am leaning toward DJCity.com I've heard many good things. I just want to make sure I'm not missing out anything else just because I was impatient and didn't do my research.

Yes, unlimited.
Here's a story to show how much they care about their customers. I did not realize that my account was on auto-renewal and they took money out of my account for a month I did not realize I was signed up for. At the time, I didn't have extra money to spend, and I told them this. Not only did they put the money back in my account, but gave me an entire month free to apologize. A great group of people run the pool.

Sounds good... I was with mymp3pool & promoonly.com before that, but I too may join DJ City. I am with CDpool Digital in the UK but could do with a new mp3 pool to join also. DJ City it may well be

how many songs would anyone say you download weekly from DJCity or any music pool, to play while DJing.

I'm in the double digits each week for tracks downloaded.

been going to djcity for like the last 2 years. it is a great record pool. i worked at a summer camp and didnt have access to internet for 3 months and asked them if i can cancel my subscription because i don't after internet. This is only 1 month after i got the subscription renewed again, and they said since i have been a customer with them for so long, i can put it on hold and they will accommodate the rest of my time when i come back. I thought that was really cool.
There is a download limit tho. you are only allowed to download each track 3 times.
Its a great record pool. top40 songs come out really fast, and they update quickly. Staff is great! couldn't ask for more!

digiwaxx kinda pissed me off cause they started listing their mp3's as 320s. i went on assuming they were 320s, then i started listening carefully and heard how bad they sounded next to a real 320. they just reencoded the 192s or lower to 320..

I use my Mp3Pool, Masspool and whatever, I can't get there, I go to Beatport.
Subscribed to DJCity since everyone's said how good it is, just not sure I'm wanting to pay for 3 months upfront when moneys a little tight, 1 would have been better

I've been using DJCity for some time and am happy with their song selection, service and their user interface. I want to try DMS http://www.directmusicservice.com/ as well. DMS has some exclusive remixes and seems to offer a greater selection of older tracks. Having both would be ideal but expensive.

One Last question? on DJCity can you unsubscribe and re-subscribe at any moment you choose? I realize that some other sites don't allow you to do this.

I'd still like a comparison of DMS vs. ZipDJ.

With djcity, you pay in 3 month increments. If you cancel, you carry out your subscription until your 3 months are over. You don't get any money back because you pay in advance. HTH

Does that mean that after the 3 months are up you aren't obligated to subscribe again, and are you also able to rejoin at any time?

After your first 3 months u don't have to resubscribe if you don't want to. they have u pay 3 months worth so u don't download everything they have in 1 month and just unsubscribe

I've been using mp3pool for quite awhile. Pretty good site, cheaper than DJcity, but I don't think it has as big of a selection.

The terms and conditions on zipdj are interesting.. and ive noticed they have recently been reworded.
5.3 Because the service is designed for personal sampling and use, you are not allowed to use any automated system for the selection or downloading of files. zipDJ reserves the right to immediately and permanently terminate your access to the service if zipDJ believes that you are violating such limitation.
