Ikea EXPEDIT review
Like alot of you I was in need for a better way to store my vinyl. Already having many full Container Store supreme crates and a Utility shelf I needed something larger. With several recommendations I went to Ikea and purchased the Expidit shelf. The Expidit comes in 3 different sizes; 2×4, 4×4, and 6×6 (described using the amount of cubes). Due to the way the ceilings are in my record room, I had to go with the mid sized shelf.

Assembly
I would definitely recommend having someone assist as you build it, it gets rather heavy. Other than that, the instructions were fairly straight forward leaving no extra parts at the end.
Long Term Use
I have had this shelf for several years now, and there is no signs of warping anywhere. With having enough vinyl on the floor, I will be purchasing another shelf in the near future.
Pros
- Great for record storage
- Sturdy
- Well Built
Cons
- Each cube is a little deeper than records are, I would advise tacking a piece of trim molding at the desired depth to prevent records from sliding too far back.
- The additional accessory draws are kind of flimsy.
